Recently, the production of multiple Zhouxiang multi-torch gantry welding machines for marine T-beams has entered an accelerated phase; the workshop is operating on a two-shift schedule, making every effort to ensure shipyard delivery deadlines are met.

T-profiles serve as core load-bearing components for decks and compartments, with welding work accounting for nearly one-quarter of the total hull fabrication. Zhouxiang’s multi-head gantry welding system can simultaneously process 5 to 9 T-profiles in a single pass, accommodating lengths from 2,500 to 16,000 mm, flange thicknesses of 6–30 mm, and web thicknesses of 8–20 mm. The equipment is equipped with OTC XD600G digital inverter gas-shielded welding machines; it utilizes a single-arc/single-wire process for thinner plates and switches to a dual-arc/dual-wire process for plates exceeding 20 mm in thickness, with adjustable welding speeds ranging from 250 to 1,000 mm/min. Each welding arm is independently fitted with an electronic contact-type sensor tracker, supporting automatic positioning and real-time weld seam tracking.

This batch of orders comes from a major domestic shipbuilding enterprise. On-site testing has verified that welding six T-bars simultaneously takes only 43–45 minutes—more than double the efficiency of traditional single-unit setups. The process significantly reduces the need for grinding and rework, effectively alleviating welder shortages and production capacity bottlenecks.
