How Are The Box Columns Produced?

As the construction industry continues to develop and building heights are constantly being refreshed, box columns are widely used in various frame structures due to their own high strength characteristics of steel structures, good tensile and flexural properties, and the ability to be filled with concrete internally, making full use of the advantages of good compressive properties of concrete.

Production Step


1, CNC cutting machine under the material, cutting out 2 bottom plates, 2 web plate, multiple baffle plate.

2、Move the U/box beam assembly machine, clamping the web laterally at each partition in turn, making the web close to the partition, and spot welding and fixing after good position, until the web is tightened to each partition.


3. The welding arm equipped with the welding head moves horizontally and up and down through the sliding plate and cart to align the nozzle on the CO2 welding head with the weld seam, and the arm is equipped with a pneumatic elastic mechanical arc guide device, and then a moving cart travels in a straight line on the guide rail to perform automatic bottoming welding of the beveled flat welds of the box beam.


4. Turn the workpiece 90 degrees with 90-degree turning machine and move it to the workpiece holder below the electroslag welding, and perform electroslag welding operation on each electroslag welding port until all electroslag welding ports are completed.

Note: The electroslag welding area is equipped with 2 electroslag welding machines, which can weld symmetrically according to the welding process requirements, and each electroslag welding machine can weld 2 electroslag welds simultaneously at a time.



5. Mainly used for submerged arc welding of box beams. Submerged arc welding of box-shaped beams can be done in two forms: single-arc single wire and double-arc double wire. Single arc single wire configuration is flexible, double arc double wire can improve the welding efficiency.


6. The box-shaped workpiece is conveyed to the end milling area through the roller conveyor to perform milling operation on the end face of the workpiece. Note: The configuration of end milling area can be 2 sets of end milling machine or 1 set of end milling machine.
