A Brief Discussion On The Inspection And Maintenance Of Welding Robots

In order to make the welding robot work efficiently and ensure the normal operation of the robot, the user needs to perform regular maintenance and inspection on the robot body and system after using the robot for a predetermined time. At the same time, to ensure the safety of equipment and personnel during operation, the robot should be inspected every 4,000 hours (or more than two years) of operation. A brief discussion on the inspection and maintenance of welding robots

I. Inspection of the welding robot body:

1. The robot body and control box are equipped with lithium batteries for servo motor encoder data backup. The battery life varies with the working environment. When it exceeds two years, it is necessary to replace the battery. Otherwise, the motor encoder data will be lost and the origin needs to be readjusted. Before replacement, the teaching data needs to be backed up to prevent the loss of the teaching program and setting parameters.

2. Check if the original marks of each axis are overlapped.

3. Check if each axis runs smoothly and stably during automatic and manual operation.

4. Check if the robot safety switch and emergency stop switch are normal.

5. Check if the wire feeding mechanism is stable.

6. Check if the speed reduction mechanism is worn.

7. Adjust the tension of the toothed belt.

8. Add lubricating oil to the three axes TW, BW, and RW (normal butter is not allowed to be added to the oil hole).


II. Control box inspection

1. Replace lithium battery.

2. Check cooling fan.

3. Check cables (ground cable, power cable, control cable).

4. Check whether the switches on the teaching pendant operation panel are normal.

5. Dust removal inside the control box.


III. External shaft and positioning fixture inspection

1. Replace lithium battery.

2. Add lubricating oil.

3. Check if the connecting bolts are tight.

4. Check if there are any abnormalities during operation.

5. Check if the positioning pin is worn.


IV. Welding machine part

1. Welding power source (internal dust removal, whether the connection part is loose)

2. Welding gun (nozzle cleaning, whether the wire feeding tube is blocked, whether the insulation is normal, whether the air pipe is leaking, whether the cable is loose or damaged).

3. Wire feeding device (whether the wire feeding wheel is worn, whether the SUS tube is damaged or worn, whether the wire feeding motor is abnormal).

4. Grounding cable (whether it is burned, cracked, and whether the connection is tight).
